Gone Astray

A spoiled pooch separated from her owner has to find her way home in Beverly Hills Chihuahua

Chloe lives a pampered life in Los Angeles. She has the best clothes and the best food. She’s even lucky enough to take a vacation to Mexico. But then the worst happens — Chloe gets lost and has to find her way home.

That would be hard enough if Chloe was human, but she’s not. She’s a dog, and a tiny dog at that. Chloe, you see, is a Chihuahua (pronounced chi-wa-wa), and the star of the new movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua.

Fortunately, she hooks up with some other dogs, like Delgado the German Shepherd and a puppy named Papi, and together they work to reunite Chloe with her human owner.

And, in a way, Chloe’s not completely lost in Mexico.

After all, that’s where Chihuahuas come from. The breed was first discovered in the Mexican state of Chihuahua in 1850. Since then they’ve become popular all over the world thanks to their compact little bodies and big attitudes.

It’s too bad Chloe got lost, but on her journey home she might just learn something about her impressive roots.
