Game On!

de Blob

DS, Wii

Colourful, musical Chroma City has been turned silent and grey overnight by the evil (and boring) I.N.K.T. Corporation. With colour-sucking robots and ink-shooting tanks I.N.K.T. is determined to create a black and white world. But one very brave — and very strange — superhero stands against the Inkys. He’s Blob: a big jello-ish ball of goo, and with your help, he’ll bounce and roll through the city splashing everything in his way with bright colours and funky tunes. Using buttons, stylus or flicking the Wii-mote, you’ll guide Blob through tough missions, smushing bad guys and dodging sizzling traps of electricity to bring colour — and fun — back into the world. Go Blob!

Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals

DS

This sequel continues the adventures of Rallen and Jeena — young planetary patrol officers who discover, excavate, awaken and train mysterious fossilized creatures known as Spectrobes, and then use them to battle the evil forces of Krawl. Improvements include new excavating tools, like a hose for cooling hot lava, and you can control both characters, so get ready for some puzzles in the laboratory as well. There are more than 100 hidden creatures (twice as many as the first game), plus you’ll be able to use your existing Spectrobes cards, and visit friends on DGamer — Disney’s new online game community.

PURE

PC, PS3, Xbox 360

Whether you call them quad bikes, four-wheelers or ATVs, racing all-terrain vehicles through rugged mountains and deserts is a risky sport, but if you tried to copy the riders in PURE, you’d wind up in jail, hospital or worse. Racing against the computer (or up to 16 friends online) you hit jumps and do aerial tricks to gain “boost,” which you’ll need to beat the other racers to the finish line. But these aren’t wimpy little real-world moguls. Instead, you’ll be flying off 20-storey high cliffs or racing down ski hills, all while performing gravity-defying flips and poses. It’s so crazy you better wear a helmet...even in your living room.
