Escape Claws

The creatures from Madagascar are back in a sequel that finds them returning to their ancestral homeland

The last time we saw the animals from the movie Madagascar — Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo — they were preparing to leave the island of Madagascar (located off the coast of Africa) on a boat supplied by those crazy penguins. However, the one thing they didn’t know was that the boat had run out of gas!

That means the critters are still stuck on Madagascar, which is where the sequel, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, begins.

Although Alex and his pals have made friends with King Julian and the lemurs, they are desperate to leave the island and return home to the New York City zoo. And it’s the penguins who once again come to the rescue. They believe they can repair an old plane that crashed on the island many years ago and fly it home.

But the penguins aren’t great mechanics, and the plane only gets as far as the continent of Africa before it crashes. Once again the group is stranded, however they are not alone. For the first time these zoo-raised animals come face-to-face with animals of their own kind! It’s exciting, but also scary since these African animals are all wild, which makes for an uncomfortable family reunion!
