Game On!

Monsters vs. Aliens

DS, PC, PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360

Based on — duh! — the 3D animated movie, the fate of the world is now in the hands (paws? flippers? tentacles?) of you and five misfit monsters.

The fish-ape Missing Link is strong and acrobatic; jello-ish B.O.B. can stretch, bounce, stick to walls, and swallow enemies; Ginormica smashes stuff while racing through the city using cars as roller skates, and the 35-storey-tall Insectosaurus shoots silk and has a piercing sonic scream. And any time you’re stuck, just call on the brainy Dr. Cockroach for gadgets and advice.

But to defeat Gallaxhar and his giant alien robots in this all-new adventure, the monsters must also employ their most potent power: an endless supply of wisecracks.

Sonic and the Black Knight

Wii

When a sorceress named Merlina summons Sonic into the realm of King Arthur, the world’s most famous blue hedgehog sets out on a mystical quest. But Sonic will need more than his usual speed to best the tyrannical Black Knight — for the first time ever he wields a sword, and you control it with mighty swings of the Wii-mote.

Using the magical blade you’ll duel foes and slice through obstacles (and bad guys!) without slowing down. It even helps Sonic climb and jump in the platforming levels. So brave adventurer... do you have what it takes to save the kingdom and take your place at the Round Table?

MySims Party

DS, Wii

This just-for-kids version of the famous Sims game series will turn any gathering into an instant party with its 50 mini-games, each hosted by a different — and super cute — MySim. Up to four friends can try to Stick the Trick while extreme snowboarding, outrun a robot in Robo Assault or boogie down in the Go Go Dancing challenge.

The DS version has 40 games you can take anywhere. Try digging up fossils during Excavate-a-Saurus, help Goth Boy shoot ghoulies during Haunted Hunted or rock out with Air-Guitar-Star. For all, you’ll need speed, skill, endurance and — let’s be honest — plenty of luck.
