Underdog
Underdog to the rescue!
A regular pooch is transformed into a crime-fighting superhero in Underdog
"There’s no need to fear. Underdog is here!” That’s the motto of the world’s greatest canine superhero: Underdog.
Underdog first appeared as the star of a Saturday morning cartoon that debuted in 1964 and ran until 1973. Now the crime-fighting beagle comes to the big screen in the new movie Underdog, which isn’t animated but stars actors and a real dog.

Underdog wasn’t born a superdog. He’s just a regular pooch named
Shoeshine who is kidnapped by a mad scientist, Dr. Simon Barsinister.
The doctor brings Shoeshine to his lab, and that’s where an accident
occurs that transforms the canine. He suddenly possesses great powers,
including the ability to fly and speak!
Shoeshine escapes from the doctor and decides to use his powers to
fight crime. He creates a costume for himself — one that looks a lot
like Superman’s costume, don’t you think? He reveals his powers to a
single human, a 12-year-old boy named Jack, who adopts Shoeshine and
becomes his owner and friend.

And when crime strikes or innocent lives
are in danger, Shoeshine puts on his costume and becomes Underdog, a
tail-waging, treat-loving superhero.
Underdog opens August 3.
