Tomb Raiders
The O’Connell family takes on a ruthless emperor and his army in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
The last time we saw the O’Connell clan — explorer Rick, his wife Evelyn and their son Alex — was in the movie The Mummy Returns, in which the trio battled the resurrected mummy Imhotep and the brawny Scorpion King.
Now, seven years later, the family returns in another action-packed flick, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
The film is set in 1946, and Rick and Evelyn have retired after working as spies during the Second World War. However, the couple is asked to do one more job: return an artifact stolen from a museum in Shanghai, China. They agree, and plan on visiting Evelyn’s brother, John, who runs a bar in Shanghai.
However, what the pair doesn’t know is that their now grown son, Alex, has followed in their footsteps and is working as an archaeologist in northern China. There, he makes his first big discovery, finding the fabled Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. But the inexperienced Alex is fooled into opening the tomb, and in doing so unleashes the evil Emperor and his army of 10,000 warriors!
Alex is going to need some help fighting the Emperor and his soldiers, and calls on the two people who’ll know what to do: mom and dad. Together, the family confronts some fierce opponents, including the nasty Emperor, a double-crossing sorceress, a two-headed dragon and a ferocious Yeti!
