Pirates Who Don’t do Anything: A Veggie Tales Movie

Petrified Pirates

Three friends face their fears when they travel back in time to become pirates

Captain Jack, Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner may be the most famous movie pirates around, but then again you haven’t met Elliot, Sedgewick and George.

They are the three stars of the latest Veggie Tales movie, Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything. If you are familiar with the Veggie Tales TV show and movies, then you know the main characters are all vegetables with larger-than-life personalities.

In this movie, Sedgewick is portrayed by the gourd Mr. Lunt, George is played by Pa Grape and Elliot is none other than Larry the Cucumber. These three pals work as busboys at the Pieces of Ate Dinner Theater, which puts on a play about pirates each night.

The friends wish they could be up on stage swinging from the mast and sword-fighting instead of stacking dishes in the kitchen.

Well, they get their wish when a mysterious object drops out of the sky. It is called a “Helpseeker” and it’s been sent from the past into the future to search for heroes. It seems a ship from the 17th-century is in trouble and needs a few brave souls to save the day. That means goodbye dishes, hello adventure for Elliot, Sedgewick and George, who are whisked back in time and onboard the sailing ship.

But as the friends discover, pretending to be a pirate hero is very different from actually confronting danger as a real-life swashbuckler!

Pirates Who Don’t do Anything: A Veggie Tales Movie opens January 11
