    • The Stepfather: Predictable and Brainless...

The Stepfather is a remake of the cult classic 1987 suspense/horror film about a man who seeks the perfect family and murders those who fail his expectations. Unfortunately, this is another remake that probably wasn't necessary in the first place, and it definitely doesn't exceed the original. The 2009 Stepfather is predictable, cheesy and unbelievably asinine! You get to see plenty of shots of Amber Heard in a swimsuit, but that's basically one of the only big pluses of this remake for eager teens. That's assuming you're taking it seriously of course. This is a great movie for teens and young adults that are in the mood for something so cliched and corny that it's easy to poke fun at. Unless you fall into that crowd, this is just a weak, by-the-numbers slasher that you can safely avoid. Trust me, you're not missing anything.
