OMG...I kept hoping that the movie would get better. I didn't think it was possible for it to get worse. But it did. I am more upset about my waist of time then my money. This movie was pointless and left you wondering how this could possiably have been produced and sent to theatres. CAUTION DO NOT WATCH WILE LIVING.

it has just made my 'all time worst movie'. It is not even science fiction, its like a random collage of scenes, and at the end leaves you wondering wtf was the point of this movie. i should have listened to my roommate who told me to stay away.
    • The Box: Would You Push the Button? It's Probably Not Worth It...

Well, I figured going in that a movie made written and directed by the guy who did Donnie Darko would be weird, but The Box is... WEIRD! Is it good weird? Mmmm... I'm not sure. The Box doesn't feel as well-made Donnie Darko, in fact, sometimes it seems excessively confusing and unpolished. The initially-intriguing premise gives way to a weird and illogical continuation that will just feel like gobbledygook to 99% of moviegoers. On the bright side, the performances are pretty solid, particularly James Marsden's, but the story is incoherent and the characters are impossible to care about because they aren't developed very well. The Darko crowd will probably find some greater meaning to all this nonsense, but to me and the theatre I was in, every emotional momenet was laughed at, as was every random plot turn. I'll try to be nice and give credit where it's due, but even an optimistic critic like me has to admit that this probably isn't worth most people's time. Unless you're part of the fanatical Darko following, this is a movie that is probably too weird and too messy to bother with.
