For fifty years, Diana Vreeland has reigned as the "Empress of Fashion," launching Twiggy, giving advice to Jacqueline Onassis and establishing many trends that have remained vital over the years. She worked at Harper's Bazaar for twenty-five years where she became the fashion editor and went on to become the editor-in-chief of Vogue. This was followed by her remarkable time at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute where she helped popularize its historical collections. She is one of the most influential women of the 20th century and has had an immeasurable influence on the course of fashion, publishing and culture.
