Director Joe Wright's third collaboration with actress Keira Knightley, after Pride and Prejudice and Atonement, is an adventurous adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's tragic 1878 love story that follows the titular socialite, played by Knightley, and her affair with the affluent Count Vronsky (Aaron Johnson), stepping out on her much-older husband Karenin (Jude Law) and entering into a whole new life in late-19th century Europe.
Wright does his best to explain the tangled web of would-be lovers and unrequited passions as he sits down to talk about Anna Karenina, opening in select theatres November 30, along with key members of his cast.
Premiering at TIFF, Anna Karenina, and specifically Knightley's no-holds-barred performance, has entered the Oscar race talk so get to know more about the fantasy-romance with our interview, after the jump.
