Move over, Edward Cullen...the boy wizard is back and he means business.
Warner Brothers has released the brand new trailer for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows films and it is a doozy! If you had any doubts that the wildly popular Potter franchise would go out with a bang, let's just say this look ahead may silence those pesky negative musings. It's got a look at everything that fans are waiting to see (Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint included) and builds more than enough excitement that even non-fans are sure to be just a little intrigued by the final battle between The Boy Who Lived and You Know Who. Based on the glimpses we get, there's only one word to describe the finale and that is "epic". But don't just take my word for it...take a gander at the preview yourself:
What did I say? EPIC, right? Not that I wasn't excited prior to seeing the heart-pounding sneak peek above but it's safe to say that AFTER seeing it, my excitement just ratcheted all the way up to 11. And hearing those few famous notes of the Potter theme as the title flies onto the screen? Shiver inducing, no question about it. But, truth be told, that excitement is tinged with a healthy dollop of sadness as I'm reluctant to see the story of Harry, Ron, Hermione and their wonderful world of Witchcraft and Wizardry come to an end. I will miss every single one of those wonderful characters…from the Harry himself, to the marvelously named Minerva McGonagall, right on down to Nearly-Headless Nick and the Grey Lady. I’ll even miss the Dursleys and the Malfoys…two fantastically written examples of familial super-dysfunctionality. I’ll miss words like 'Muggle', 'Quidditch' and 'Horcrux' and look back fondly on a time when others would know what I was talking about if I mentioned a “Blast-Ended Skrewt” or “Bertie Bott's Every Flavoured Beans”. I’ll miss…well, everything.
The first of the two films hits theatres this November, while the second will makes its way to the big screen in July 2011.
Now that you've had a look at the new trailer - what are you most looking forward to seeing in the final two films? And which characters or elements will you miss most once the end comes? Try to keep your answers spoiler-free for the Muggles who haven't read the novel!
