He's already proven he can go all the way with his brave full-frontal nudity in Forgetting Sarah Marshall but now goofy, puppet-loving man-child Jason Segel is taking things a step further with a sex tape.
Re-teaming with his Bad Teacher director Jake Kasdan, Segel plays one-half of a married couple who try to re-energize things between the sheets by filming their love-making only to find that the sex tape's disappeared the next morning. From there, the frazzled couple have to track down their naughty video and likely find themselves in increasingly awkward situations rife with comedic possibilities.
Granted, the premise doesn't feel entirely original but with Segel as the husband and word that Reese Witherspoon has backed out (just, NO), this is a Sex Tape that seems worth watching.
Kate Angelo ("Will & Grace", The Back-Up Plan) is on screenwriting duties and though Kasdan's track record is encouraging - he helmed Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and episodes of "Freaks and Geeks" - the missing piece that may take this Sex Tape to the next level is the female lead.
Considering the year Segel's had, including bringing back the Muppets, headlining the celebrated indie Jeff Who Lives at Home and his anticipated upcoming movies The Five-Year Engagement and This is Forty, we doubt the filmmakers will have much trouble finding a lady willing to lay down beside him.
What say you: Who should co-star in Jason Segel's Sex Tape?
