When you sign on to an adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks romance, certain things are expected: slow-motion scenes of frolicking, ideally on a beach, potent stares across a dimly-lit room, rose-hued romance and a heavy dose of intimacy.
So while Safe Haven stars Josh Duhamel, married to Black Eyed Peas' songstress Fergie, and Julianne Hough, long-time squeeze of one-man industry Ryan Seacrest, were attracted to the more unexpected elements of the movie - it's a thriller-romance with a darker tone than say Dear John or The Last Song - they still had to act like they were falling in love and being in relationships can make that aspect of acting a little thorny.
But before you start to feel too badly for them, they're both ridiculously sculpted specimens, so don't. But when we asked how they navigated going home at night after spending the day falling for someone else, their answers elicited some hearty laughs and a little in the way of advice - don't tell your significant other everything. Plus we got the scoop on why Safe Haven is still a Valentine's Day movie.
