The Amazing Spider-manDirector Marc Webb's take on Peter Parker and his web-slinging alter-ego doesn't hit theatres until July 3 but backing studio Sony Pictures has taken pity on us and made the wait a tad more palatable by releasing three brand new clips from the film.

Featuring the film's stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans and Denis Leary, the new sneak peek scenes cover very different moments from the film but as a whole manage to give us a pleasing bit of insight into the complexities of Peter Parker (Garfield) - the nerd, the teenager and the reluctant hero - alongside intriguing snippets of Gwen Stacey (Stone) and the menacing Dr. Connors/The Lizard (Ifans).

Judging from the general sentiment of some of our dear readers (via comments in posts past), a great many of you think this re-boot comes a little too closely on the heels of the blockbuster Raimi/Maguire collaboration. Point taken. But, based on what we've seen so far, I can honestly say that this new take on Spider-man can't come soon enough for me. Bring on Garfield's Spidey, STAT.
