Seth MacFarlane – yes, that Seth MacFarlane – has rounded up a Wild West posse of big name actors in his comedy Western A Million Days to Die in the West.
The newly-released character posters feature some funny faces and some actors whose names probably don’t come to mind when you think “Comedy Western” and “Seth MacFarlane.” The mind behind “Family Guy” and Ted the talking bear has rounded up none other than Liam Neeson, Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Giovanni Ribisi, Neil Patrick Harris, and Sarah Silverman to star alongside himself in the movie.
The writer-director stars as Albert, a cowardly sheep farmer who backs out of a gun fight (a big no-no in the Wild West) and subsequently loses his girlfriend over his cowardice. Luck might be on Albert’s side when he meets the wife (Theron) of a notorious outlaw (Neeson) who takes the lily-livered farmer under her wing to teach him a thing or two about shooting, giving him the chance to win back his pride, his girl (or perhaps a new one).
We’re most-intrigued about the inclusion of NPH and his expertly-waxed moustache, looking like he’s channeling the great great great grandfather of his “How I Met Your Mother” character Barney Stinson.
The former Oscar host is also writing the novelization of his script, due to be released in March, so those who can’t wait to find out if Albert conquers his fear and gets the girl can check out the book well in advance of the film’s release.
