Two comedy superstars go nose-to-nose in The Campaign, a funny look at the funny business of politics in the States, hitting theatres August 10.
Stars and co-producers Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis whipped fans into a frenzy when they practically shut down Queen Street to speak with throngs of press folks about their new movie, where they play political rivals, both engaging in depraved mud-slinging and amoral one-upmanship that may have more truth than meets the eye.
While Ferrell is no novice to the world of political humour, honing his skills for years on SNL and going solo for his one-man Broadway show You're Welcome America as George Dubya, and Galifianakis is more known for his weirdo parts and "Between Two Ferns" irreverence, the match is clearly one that got many people excited.
We braved the extreme heat and (briefly) chatted with the stars of The Campaign in front of Scotiabank Theatre and though we're still not sure if Galifianakis' blank expression was due to jet lag or if it was part of the act, his presence was felt.
