HitchcockThe master of suspense, Alfred Hitchcock is getting the biopic treatment. Anthony Hopkins assumes the role of the legendary director in Hitchcock, physically transforming himself for the role. The movie, which opens in limited release this week before expanding to theatres across Canada, gives a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of Psycho and the love story between Hitchcock and wife and partner Alma Reville (Helen Mirren).

The film boasts a stunning cast who each portray real-life actors and crew members including Scarlett Johansson and James D’Arcy as Psycho stars Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins, Jessica Biel as actress Vera Miles, and Michael Sthulbarg as studio exec Lew Wasserman and Toni Collette as Hitchcock’s long-time assistant Peggy Robertson. While today’s famous faces portray the silver screen stars of the 1960’s, it’s all about the man behind-the-camera, Alfred Hitchcock.
