Hollywood is the land of bosoms and Botox and nearly everyone within the city limits is some kind of gorgeous. Duh. But that makes the task of hand-picking this year's 10 lust-worthy ladies whose stunning looks, bodacious bods, and even, you know, talent, stand above the rest that much more challenging. Luckily our desire to present an accurate list filled to the, ahem, gills with lovely ladies meant that we weren't going to let something like sheer numbers stop us.

So who made our list? Read on to find out who cracked the top 5 and who is THE hotness. And take a look back at who was giving us the vapours last year.

#10 GEMMA ARTERTON

She may not be a household name yet, but after the 2010 blockbuster season is over there’s a big chance that will have changed. The quintessential English rose, Arterton is really just starting to make her mark in Hollywood but what a mark! The first half of the year finds the sexy brunette headlining not one, but two big-budget epics: opposite Sam Worthington in Clash of the Titans and alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. If those stunning eyes and that to-die-for skin look familiar, it may be because her role as the newest Bond girl opposite Daniel Craig in Quantum of Solace left you with quite an impression. And who could blame you?

Cate Blanchett

#9 CATE BLANCHETT

The multi-talented, award-winning actress may have just turned the big 4-0 but this mother of three young boys doesn't look a day over 25. With two SAGs, two Golden Globe Awards, two BAFTAs, one Academy Award and over 30 films to her credit, Blanchett has naturally attended her fair share of premieres and galas. But heck, we all come out winners there as no one lights up a red carpet quite like the luminous Aussie. Next up, Blanchett lends her talent to the legendary role of Maid Marian in Robin Hood with Russell Crowe appearing alongside her as the infamous merry outlaw. I think it's safe to say Maid Marion has never looked so good…and Robin has never been quite so lucky.

#8 AMANDA SEYFRIED

No longer just the next big thing, this gorgeous blonde has set herself up as a major Hollywood player with some serious box office potential. Her early role as high school ditz Karen in the critical hit Mean Girls put her on the map, but it was her roles in Mamma Mia!, the romantic drama Dear John and her recent turn as a femme fatale in Atom Egoyan's Chloe that proved she’s more than just a pretty face. The sexy Seyfried continues to be one hot commodity for the rest of 2010 as she resumes her heartbreaking role as independent daughter Sarah on HBO’s “Big Love” and acts alongside screen legend Vanessa Redgrave in Letters to Juliet. To paraphrase a line from her stand-out role as Lily Kane in "Veronica Mars", she's pretty awesome, right?

Anna Paquin

#7 ANNA PAQUIN

She may have been one of the youngest Academy Award winners on record but it is safe to say that moppet of a little girl from The Piano is all grown up. The 27-year old reccently-blonde bombshell has somehow managed the impossible and completed the smooth transition from child star to adult actor with absolutely no detours into tabloid headlines. Let’s get right down to it though, it's her juicy leading role as Sookie Stackhouse in HBO’s sultry vamp drama hit, "True Blood" that made everyone sit up and seriously take notice. And when she and British hottie fiancé (and "True Blood" co-star) Stephen Moyer aren't steaming up the small screen, they're busy setting the red carpet alight. Anna has already carved out a spot for herself in our Top 10 but maybe we should create a Most Attractive Couple in Hollywood list for these two. Stay tuned.

Zooey Deschanel

#6 ZOOEY DESCHANEL

Sparkling doe eyes, a luminescent smile, Pantene-commercial lustrous locks, a penchant for vintage clothing and a sexy, raspy voice that sends shivers down your spine. That’s the petite, multi-talented Deschanel in a nutshell. Along with an acting career that seems to be positively thriving after her fantastic role in the romantic indie gem (500) Days of Summer, she has written and recorded two critically-lauded albums alongside folk singer/songwriter M. Ward. You can also add model to her already impressive resume as Brit cosmetics powerhouse Rimmel has recently signed her as their newest spokesperson. The only surprising thing about that particular development? That is took this long for someone to snap her up!

Olivia Wilde

#5 OLIVIA WILDE

You know when Maxim crowns you the hottest girl of 2009 – cause if there’s one thing they specialize in it’s mega-sexy babes – you’re doing pretty well in the looks department. The 26-year-old stunner has certainly made a name for herself since she locked lips with Misha Barton on “The O.C.” almost five years ago. From her recurring role on hit medical dramedy “House” to her upcoming roles in Tron: Legacy, Butter and Jon Favreau’s sci-fi/fantasy flick Cowboys and Aliens, the foxy Wilde is nabbing top-notch acting gigs and looking plenty beautiful while doing it. If only all doctors looked like her, sitting in the waiting room would almost be worth it. Almost.

Salma Hayek
(Craig Barritt/Getty Images)
#4 SALMA HAYEK

At 44, Salma exudes the kind of worn-in sex appeal that’s undeniable and hasn’t diminished a lick with age. Blessed with amazing hair (ladies, am I right?), full lips, a compact- but-womanly body and on-point comedic timing, Hayek is pretty much the complete package. From a start in Robert Rodriguez’s big shoot-‘em-ups like Desperado and From Dusk Till Dawn to her Oscar-nominated performance in the compelling biopic Frida and a recent stint on the Tina Fey laffer "30 Rock", Hayek is a jack(ie)-of-all-trades and always manages to look amazing while switching between different genres. She joins the boys’ club that is Grown Ups as Adam Sandler’s wife (umm, okay) and will reunite with frequent co-star Antonio Banderas for his Shrek spin-off, Puss In Boots as the voice of Kitty. My bet, this cat purrs.

Mila Kunis
(Jason Merritt/Getty Images)
#3 MILA KUNIS

The Ukrainian-born former TV star showed comedic chops as Jackie Burkhart, the teenaged, spoiled, self-centered man-eater who wore her narcissism like a Brownie badge on Fox’s hit series "That ‘70s Show," and while always pretty, obvs, her irritating character often made it difficult to see Mila as hot. Then came Jason Segel’s Forgetting Sarah Marshall and whether it was the Hawaiian location or just a matter of growing into her features, she looked straight-up gorgeous, making it pretty darned easy for one Peter Bretter (Segel) to forget ex-gf what’s-her-name. In addition to her role as hot con-girl in last year’s Extract, she kicked ass in The Book of Eli and went for yuks in Date Night. Next up for her is Darren Aronofsky’s ballet drama-thriller Black Swan, which means Mila can show off that toned body in a unitard. When do the tickets go on sale…?

Marion Cotillard
(Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images)
#2 MARION COTILLARD

The French beauty was introduced to North American audiences in a big way when she cleaned up during the 2008 awards season for her incredible portrayal of Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose. Picking up a BAFTA, Cesar, Golden Globe, and, arguably Hollywood’s biggest acting accolade, an Oscar for Best Actress, she became the first woman since 1961 to win an Academy Award for a non-English language performance. Impressive, right? But it’s not like her stunning looks – what with that porcelain skin and light-eyes-dark-hair combo – have gone unnoticed. Dior head designer John Galliano was so taken by Cotillard that he cast her as the face of Lady Dior in his extensive campaign. She next joins Leo in Christopher Nolan's mind-trip Inception and will no doubt set the big screen aflame with her smoldering gaze.

Christina Hendricks
(Frazer Harrison/Getty Images)
#1 CHRISTINA HENDRICKS

As a real-life version of Jessica Rabbit, Hendricks is one of those dames, and yes she’s a dame, that just exudes a confident, undeniable sexuality from her tangerine locks to her ample – well, jaw-droppingly generous – bosom to her sling-backed heels. We have “Mad Men” creator Matt Weiner to thank for transporting the old-school beauty into our living rooms as whip-smart, fashion-forward office receptionist Joan Holloway, who kept Sterling-Cooper’s often tipsy ad men on task, while making their pulses race, even while covered up to here. She'll be hitting a theatre near you with Leonie, Life As We Know It and The Family Tree, all scheduled for 2010 releases. Somewhere, someone is writing a poem about Christina Hendricks right now. Or they should be.
