Aleksandra is the snobbish, self-centered fashion editor of Elle magazine whose main concerns in matter in life are her dog and her shoe collection. She and her boyfriend Cyrille live in the fashionable 7th arrondissement in Paris. They have everything that life has to offer but one thing: a child. So Aleksandra "buys" little Alexei, a seven-year-old Russian boy. Then when he begins to exhibit destructive behavior in their apartment, she has second thoughts and decides to give him back. But the couple soon discovers that this is not as easy as it seems.
