For the last broadcast of the Bolshoi Ballet in Cinema 2016-17 season, the Bolshoi presents a new production, signature to the Bolshoi, based on a classic Russian literary masterpiece, “A Hero of Our Time” by Mikhail Lermontov. The ballet recounts three separate stories from this novel, all focusing on one main character, Pechorin, and his heartbreaking betrayals. Pechorin, partly inspired by and often compared to Pushkin’s Eugene Onegin, is disillusioned and careless as he embarks on a journey through the Caucasus mountains, inflicting pain upon himself and the women around him.
