Carrie is a highly intelligent girl who graduated from Harvard at 19, and struggles to make sense of the world as it relates to morality, relationships, sex and leaving her New York apartment. She has no job or sense of purpose, and no friends because of her unreasonably high standards. When her therapist assigns her the task of creating a five-point plan to get herself on track, she initially balks at the prospect, but eventually realizes that she has to reconcile her past in order to check off the items on the list.
