Kustanczy is an extremely passionate freelance arts journalist whose past includes working at CBC as well as contributing to a number of publications including The Toronto Star, the National Post and Opera Canada, among others. Her passion for Opera and culture in general has taken her across the globe to a number of locales including the Metropolitan Opera (NYC), LA Opera, the Salzburg Festival, the “big three” of Berlin (Komische Oper, Deutsche Oper, Staatsoper), Opera Royal de Wallonie (Belgium), Opera National de Lorraine (France), The Canadian Opera Company, Opera Atelier, the Calgary Opera and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, just to name a few. When she isn’t traveling the world to satisfy her hunger for opera and culture, Catherine teaches radio documentary production at Seneca College in Toronto. At a very young age, Catherine experienced seeing Luciano Pavarotti perform live in the role of Nemorino in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore, her most cherished opera, at The Metropolitan Opera in New York City. On the evening of March 15th, hosted by Exclaim Magazine, she will be on hand to deliver an intriguing primer on this classic heart-warming rom-com that stars Pretty Yende and Matthew Polenzani and will also be available to answer questions following the screening
