5 Reasons to see The Hitman's Bodyguard
Every year needs a good action comedy, and that's just what we got with The Hitman's Bodyguard.
Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson make for a perfect pair in this film where Jackson plays an assassin who is being protected by one of the world's former best bodyguards (Reynolds). However, these two have a past, making their newfound friendship nearly impossible.
Here are five reasons to see this year's hit action-comedy, The Hitman's Bodyguard!
The Hitman's Bodyguard takes place across Europe, but most notably in Amsterdam. Watching Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson banter, fight, and go on crazy car and boat chases is already awesome, but set among the beautiful canals of this city, it's even better.
Just as we were saying, there are some awesome stunts in this film, in particular an epic boat chase scene. Our very own Tanner Zee got to talk to the stunt coordinator on the film, on location! Watch the video below!
It's always great to see a fresh face on the big screen, especially among an otherwise star-studded cast. Elodie Yung is a French actress who totally holds her own against both Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson. She plays Amelia, a member of Interpol, who is the one who hires down and out bodyguard Michael Bryce (Reynolds) to escort Darius Kincaid (Reynolds) to his hearing. We hope to see her in more films, both action or not, in the future.
Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds make an unlikely pair, and they're totally supposed to hate each other in the film. We definitely believed that these two characters would've killed each other if given the chance, but loved watching their relationship progress and become something that actually slightly resembled a friendship.
Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson are both great, but if you ask us, the star of this film was Salma Hayek. She plays Kincaid's wife, who was wrongly imprisoned, and she steals every scene she's in, and is also the funniest part of the whole film.
