Black Panther, Detroit, War for the Planet of the Apes, and more make our weekly movie news

We've got a whole whack of trailers, posters, and clips coming at you in this week's movie news!

The first trailer for Marvel's Black Panther dropped last weekend! Chadwick Boseman looks bad-ass in this one. T'Challa (Boseman), the new ruler of the advanced kingdom of Wakanda, must defend his land from being torn apart by enemies from outside and inside the country. Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis, and Forest Whitaker round out an all-star cast. Check out the trailer below and catch Black Panther in Cineplex theatres on February 16th, 2018!

Kathryn Bigelow’s new film Detroit dropped a new trailer this week and we’re already on the edge of our seats! She’s teaming up with screenwriter Mark Boal again (this duo’s brought you other acclaimed movies like The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty). It’s early in the year to start making Oscar predictions but this one is almost guaranteed to get some award season love. The film stars the likes of John Krasinski, John Boyega, Will Poulter, and Anthoney Mackie. It follows a police raid in Detroit in 1967 which results in one of the largest citizen uprisings in the United States' history. Check out the new trailer below and see Detroit when it hits Cineplex theatres on August 4th!

A new clip for War for the Planet of the Apes dropped this week! Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel (Woody Harrelson). After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. Quit monkeying around, watch the clip below and see War for the Planet of the Apes when it hits Cineplex theatres on July 14th! (Also, check out the new character poster for "the bad ape")

Meet Bad Ape in the new clip from #WarForThePlanet. In theaters in 1 month.

Home Again just dropped its first trailer as well! This one stars Reese Witherspoon, Michael Sheen, and Lake Bell. Life for a single mom in Los Angeles takes an unexpected turn when she allows three young guys to move in with her. This one has all the makings of a great dramedy, as too many clashing personalities under one roof is always good for a few laughs. Think Sweet Home Alabama meets Little Miss Sunshine. Check out the trailer below and see Home Again in Cineplex theatres on September 8th!

We got the first poster and trailer for Flatliners this week. This one's a remake of the 1990 original that starred Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, William Baldwin, and Kevin Bacon.

Medical students experiment with "near death" experiences until the dark consequences begin to jeopardize their lives. The remake stars Nina Dobrev, Ellen Page, and Kiefer Sutherland returns for this one too. Check out the poster and trailer below and see Flatliners September 29th! (Make sure to have a defibrillator handy)

The first trailer and poster dropped for Ferdinand! After Ferdinand (John Cena), a bull with a big heart, is mistaken for a dangerous beast, he is captured and torn from his home. Determined to return to his family, he rallies a misfit team on the ultimate adventure. This one looks like an animated family classic in the making! Kate McKinnon, David Tennant, Gina Rodriguez, Bobby Cannavale, and Anthony Anderson round out an awesome voice cast. Check out the trailer and poster below and see Ferdinand in Cineplex theatres December 15th!

Finally, the first trailer for Daddy's Home 2 touched down yesterday! This sequel to Daddy's Home follows two men (Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg) who must deal with their intrusive fathers (Mel Gibson, John Lithgow) during the holidays. We're already in stitches over this one - the casting of Gibson as Wahlberg's dad and Lithgow as Ferrell's dad is absolutely perfect. Check out the trailer below and see Daddy's Home 2 in Cineplex theatres on November 10th!
