When you think of Transformers, you likely imagine a big-budget Michael Bay film packed with action, CGI and robot fights. Bumblebee takes things in a new direction, thanks to director Travis Knight and leading lady Hailee Steinfeld.
While we’re sure to get our dose of autobots in disguise, Bumblebee packs a lot of heart. It follows the unlikely friendship between Charlie (Steinfeld), a seventeen year old girl who is trying to find her place in the world, and the extraordinary VW bug that she discovers and takes in as her own.
We spoke to Steinfeld and her co-star John Cena about what sets this prequel apart. Watch the interview and see Bumblebee at Cineplex theatres on December 21st.
