Anna Karenina premiere, Keira Knightley

GALLERY: Keira Knighley and Jude Law hit the red carpet for the Anna Karenina premiere

It was a red carpet fit for Russian aristocracy, complete with crystal chandeliers. What better way for stars Keira Knightley and Jude Law to usher in their new movie Anna Karenina at the world premiere in London.

The appropriately theatrical premiere in support of the sweeping, tragic affair of Anna Karenina, Russian princess and socialite, caught in a love triangle between her older husband and her young cavalry officer lover.

Knightley plays the luxuriously gown and fur adorned Anna, with Jude Law as her stately husband Alexi and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as her lover, Count Vronsky. Director Joe Wright re-teams with Knightley whom he previously directed in Pride and Prejudice and Atonement for the film.  Wright moves the all the action of the story to a theatre with set changes taking place on the stage, much like a play. Based on the novel by Leo Tolstoy, the film promises gorgeous gowns, rich-toned uniforms, and of course, no princess would be complete without jewels…and lots of them.
