Canadian winters can be harsh. With weather that’s cold, snowy, slushy and anything in between, it’s hard to keep an “everything is awesome” attitude. Luckily for us, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part arrives just in time to teach us a thing or two about the power of positivity.

Whether he’s overcoming a crisis like Taco Tuesday or saving friends in dire circumstances, Chris Pratt’s Emmet Brickowski has enduring optimism. Here’s how to channel it to make it through these frigid, dark days of doom and gloom.

Be your own hero

In the original Lego Movie, Emmet struggles with his sense of creativity. He is thrown into a world of Master Builders and is mistaken as “The Special,” but no matter how many times Emmet messes up or doesn’t know what to do, his positive attitude never wavers. He keeps going and becomes a true hero for his friends when they’re counting on him.

Keep believing in yourself

As Emmet encounters each obstacle, he only knows how to follow the step-by-step instructions, but he refuses to give up. It’s his balance of originality and positivity that ultimately teaches the team there isn’t a “Chosen One” — it’s their self-belief and creative problem-solving that helps them defeat Lord Business.

Spread positivity

In The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, invaders have turned the Lego universe into a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Even though everyone else seems to be dark, brooding and in full Mad Max: Fury Road mode, Emmet remains the same positive guy we witnessed in the first film.

Team up! As the movie says, “Everything is better when we stick together”

After Lucy (Elizabeth Banks) is kidnapped by an unknown force in this new sequel, Emmet must travel to space with his crew and team up with Rex Dangervest (also voiced by Pratt) to get her back. Dangervest adds plenty of comedy as the satirical take on Pratt’s heroic characters in Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy. As cool as Dangervest seems, we bet it’s the teamwork and Emmet’s power of positivity that ultimately saves the day.

The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part is the reminder we need that everything will be awesome.

Grab your friends, get cozy and combat the gloom of winter with this laugh-out-loud movie, in theatres on February 8, 2019: It’s guaranteed to be an awesome time.
