Spider-Man: Homecoming and The Lego Ninjago Movie in January's Family Favourites!

If the wintry weather has you desperate to find something to get the kids out of the house on Saturday mornings, we've got just the solution! Every Saturday, we show classic and recent kid-friendly movies for just 2.99 per ticket at select Cineplex theatres. And this month's lineup is truly worth leaving home for!

January 13th: Spider-Man: Homecoming

The newest iteration of the wall-crawler is one that we really hope sticks around for a while. Picking up right where the events of Captain America: Civil War ended, baby-faced Tom Holland plays teenage Peter Parker as the courageous yet socially awkward young man trying to figure out how to balance being a superhero with being a regular kid, making him the most relatable web-slinger yet. Although some of the suspenseful scenes might not be suitable for really young ones, if your kids are Marvel fans they'll be certain to find lots to love in this movie!

January 20th: The Emoji Movie

We'll confess, when we heard the premise for this animated comedy--the emojis that live inside your phone are alive, and the "meh" emoji (T.J. Miller) yearns to express himself beyond his assigned emotion--we were skeptical. But this funny, charming movie is packed with great voice talent (Sir Patrick Stewart, James Corden, Anna Faris, Maya Rudolph, and more) and has a great underlying message about accepting yourself for who you are, and finding strengths in our differences. Definitely a movie that the whole family can enjoy!

January 27th: The Lego Ninjago Movie

Any fans of The Lego Movie or The Lego Batman Movie are sure to enjoy this romp based in the LEGO universe, where the city of Ninjago is under daily threat from the evil Lord Garmadon (Justin Theroux) and defended by six mysterious ninja warriors (Dave Franco, Kumail Nanjiani, Fred Armisen, Michael Peña, Zach Woods, Abbi Jacobsen) guided by Master Wu (Jackie Chan). When disaster befalls the city and the ninjas are unexpectedly defeated, they must undertake a perilous journey to tap into their true strengths. Packed with humour, this film has a great message about friendship, family, and redemption and is sure to be enjoyed by young and old alike.
