The Avengers disassemble in first trailer for Captain America: Civil War

In the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War, Steve (Chris Evans) — ever the loyal Hufflepuff — picks sides with Bucky (Sebastian Stan), his best friend of 60 years who went a little bit AWOL in Winter Soldier. Rather than allowing Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Black Widow (Scarlett Johannson), and S.H.I.E.L.D. to take Bucky in for the destruction he caused two Marvel instalments ago, Cap’ forms a new supergroup of superpowered superfriends to defend himself.

Falcon (Anthony Mackie) is of course on Team Red, White and Blue, but it’s interesting to see how the other Avengers fall in line. Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) fight alongside Steve in the first trailer for Civil War, whereas War Machine (Don Cheadle) and newcomer Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) are behind Iron Man.

Meanwhile in Asgard, Thor’s just hanging out on rainbow bridges and drinking mead.

Watch the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War below, and stick around until the end to catch two 80-year-old soldiers beat up a genius billionaire playboy philanthropist.

Captain America: Civil War hits Cineplex theatres everywhere on May 6, 2016.
