What to Watch: 2015 Summer Movie Preview

May 1 is the unofficial start of the blockbuster season, and of course, these time-travelling, superhero-fighting, talking robot movies are the big tickets this summer. From Age of Ultron to Mad Max: Fury Road, and Terminator: Genisys, it seems like every beloved franchise is heading back to theatres this summer.

If you have franchise fatigue, don't worry. We still got you covered. There are tons of original stories heading your way during the summer months!

If you’re looking to get away from the special effects and superhero drama that comes hand in hand with the summer blockbuster season, your best bet during these warmer months are comedies. Amy Schumer finally gets her own starring vehicle this summer – Trainwreck – and the soon-to-be crowned comedy queen looks primed to shine brightly in a comedy slate that also includes new material from Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig, as well as the sequels to Ted, Magic Mike, and Pitch Perfect.

Not in for a laugh? How about a couple screams? May will reboot Steven Spielberg’s Poltergeist – and based on the poster alone, it’s sure to scare the living daylights out of us. June will also bring us back into the Insidious franchise with Insidious: Chapter 3, where we’re sure another family will be terrorized by demons from the astral plane.
